VirtualBrowser raises €6M to become the European standard for secure web browsing

VirtualBrowser raises €6M to become the European standard for secure web browsing

Paris, May 13, 2026 — VirtualBrowser, a French cybersecurity software publisher specializing in secure remote web browsing, today announces a €6 million fundraising round led by four reference investors: Go Capital, BNP Paribas Développement, Auriga Cyber Ventures, and BPI France. Employees also participated in the round, a testament to their commitment and confidence in the company. The funds will be used to intensify R&D efforts and accelerate commercial expansion across Europe.

A market context demanding faster protection of critical environments

As the web browser has become the primary entry vector for cyberattacks—accounting for approximately 80% of incidents recorded in 2024—public and private organizations face growing pressure to secure their digital environments without hampering employee productivity.

VirtualBrowser provides a structural answer to this challenge: by fully isolating browsing sessions in a secure remote environment, the solution neutralizes threats at the source without imposing additional constraints on users.

Deployed to more than 150,000 users across more than 100 organizations, the platform has established itself as a reference in high-criticality environments. VirtualBrowser’s clients include leading organizations such as Thales, Naval Group, ArianeGroup, Dassault Aviation, Bouygues Telecom, the Council of the European Union, the CNIL, and the Office of the Prime Minister.

A strong vision and proven expertise

VirtualBrowser was built by entrepreneur Édouard de Rémur, who brings twenty years of experience building French software publishers with significant stakes in the digital economy. He has deep knowledge of the most demanding organizations and holds a firm conviction: cybersecurity should never come at the expense of the user.

The only CSPN-certified solution by ANSSI in Europe

VirtualBrowser is currently the first and only web browsing security solution to have obtained CSPN certification (First Level Security Certification) issued by ANSSI. This institutional recognition, resulting from an independent audit conducted by an accredited laboratory, attests to the solution’s robustness, the effectiveness of its protection mechanisms, and its resilience against real-world attack scenarios.

This certification gives VirtualBrowser a singular position in the European market, at a time when digital sovereignty and regulatory compliance are decisive criteria for vital infrastructure operators, public administrations, and regulated organizations.

A fundraise to serve four strategic priorities

This fundraising round enables VirtualBrowser to:

  • Strengthen its R&D teams to accelerate innovation and make VirtualBrowser the most advanced and highest-performing web browsing security solution on the market.
  • Accelerate commercial deployment across Europe, targeting three priority markets where VirtualBrowser already has significant reference deployments: Germany, Belgium, and Switzerland.
  • Build an ecosystem of software editor partners looking to enrich their service offerings by integrating VirtualBrowser’s protocol-breaking web technologies.
  • Develop an ecosystem of integrator and MSSP partners to drive commercial growth in Europe, targeting mid-market and enterprise accounts.

What investors are saying

“We were convinced by the combination of an experienced founder, breakthrough technology, and already significant commercial traction. VirtualBrowser is positioned in a still-emerging segment set to grow rapidly, with a scalable model and strong international potential. We are delighted to support the company in its ambition to become a reference player in European cybersecurity.”
Anne Toupe, Investment Director at Go Capital
“We believe the browser has become one of the critical nerve centers of modern cybersecurity, and that securing it must now be done without compromise on user experience. VirtualBrowser delivers a particularly strong response to this challenge through complete, seamless, agentless isolation technology, combined with genuine deployment flexibility across SaaS, on-premise, and sovereign cloud. Our conviction was further reinforced by the quality of the founder—a highly experienced entrepreneur we have known for a long time—making our commitment to him particularly natural.”
William Lecat, Partner at Auriga Cyber Ventures
“At BNP Paribas Développement, we were impressed by the technological maturity of VirtualBrowser’s solution and the diversity of use cases deployable for its clients. We have great confidence in the team led by Edouard de Remur, who has the experience needed to take this company to the highest level.”
Thomas Bourlot, Venture Investment Director at BNP Paribas Développement
“The browser has become the primary entry point for cyberattacks, even as it sits at the heart of everyday work. At VirtualBrowser, our conviction is simple: security should no longer be a constraint. We have developed technology capable of protecting the most sensitive environments while guaranteeing compliance and freedom of use. Our ambition is clear: to promote a new standard of cybersecurity at the European scale.”
